At the heart of this watch is the perpetual calendar movement, a complex mechanism that adjusts for leap years and the different lengths of months. The perpetual calendar includes a moon phase indicator, as well as day, date, month, and leap year displays—a true masterpiece in watchmaking.Design: Classic Look with a Modern Twist
The Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar still has the signature octagonal bezel that’s made the Royal Oak famous. The dial features the Tapisserie pattern, a hallmark of AP, giving it texture and depth. But there are some new design tweaks, too—like the updated moonphase display and cleaner, more legible date and month indicators. The color scheme is elegant, with a combination of blue and silver. The Case, Dial, and Bracelet
The watch features a 41mm case made of a combination of Bulk Metallic Glass (BMG) for the bezel and caseback, and titanium for the middle. This gives it strength and durability while keeping the watch lightweight. The screw-locked crown helps the watch stay water-resistant to 20 meters, so it’s great for everyday wear. At just 9.9mm thick, it has a sleek profile, even with the complex perpetual calendar movement inside.
The sapphire dial is complemented by blue accents, and the hour markers are made of 18-carat white gold for that extra touch of luxury. The blue hands are filled with luminescent material, ensuring you can read the time even in low light.
The bracelet is just as impressive. It’s made with BMG studs and titanium links, making it both lightweight and sturdy. Finished with an AP folding clasp, it’s comfortable and secure.
